Far Eastern natural cosmetics, made in Germany

Speyer-based family business Shaoyun Natural Health & Beauty produces high-quality natural cosmetics and effective products based on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) paired with dermatology, naturopathy and cosmetic science. Founded by name giver Shaoyun Liang and her husband Daniel Laschkari in 2010, the company is now on the market with a variety of natural care creams, soaps, oils, hydrulates and nutritional supplements and sells its range, in addition to well-known platforms such as Amazon and various mail-order pharmacies, also through its own retail store in downtown Speyer and plans in the medium term even an entry into the international market.

High-quality packaging for high-quality products

In order to be visible in the seemingly endless jungle of cosmetic products and to prevail against the enormous competition from drugstores and discounters, among others, an adequate packaging was needed for the high-quality products from Shaoyun. While the creams, oils and serums were previously only packed in simple white boxes with an additional banderole, this time it had to be something very special: On the one hand, a self-developed, highly individual design with peach blossoms and a bird in the centre, which for Shaoyun is a symbol for "spring, life, hope and harmony". On the other hand, Shaoyun decided on a packaging with the company name punched or lasered out - a finishing that is normally not so easy to realise and makes high demands on the budget. As a "pilot product", so to speak, the new packaging was to be used for the first time for the NEUR02 Skin Care Set, a product for skin care for symptoms of neurodermatitis and eczema.

The Packex laser makes it possible

Fortunately, Laschkari became aware of PackEx and thus also of the enormous possibilities offered by a laser in the field of packaging finishing. The large-scale and highly detailed cutout on the left side of the packaging front was realized completely without the use of punching tools, and without negatively affecting the stability of the folding box. Laschkari worked out the exact design in close cooperation with PackEx boss Nikolaus Reichenbach, also known as "the folding box expert". The Shaoyun founder was particularly pleased with this form of cooperation: "The advice and helpfulness at PackEx convinced me. Especially since the quality is right and everything is 'made in Germany'."

The result is really something to be proud of and stands out pleasantly from the majority of cosmetics packaging. After this successful "test", further Shaoyun® products are to receive new packaging in the future and the cooperation with PackEx is to be intensified. And so a great product and great packaging complement each other to form a harmonious unit - almost like ying and yang.
