PackEx plant in Worms officially inaugurated

Worms, June 2019 - PackEx GmbH celebrated its official company opening at the factory premises in Worms on 28 May 2019. Highlights were the production tours, during which guests gained insights into the PackEx universe. First reference packaging materials and a look at the innovative high-tech laser were included.

After a successful pilot phase and initial customer orders, PackEx GmbH, a subsidiary of August Faller GmbH & Co. KG, now officially said: Welcome to Worms! Numerous guests, including shareholders, business partners, employees and their families as well as representatives of the city of Worms celebrated with the fully digitalised start-up on its factory premises. In addition to exciting insights into the still young company history, the highlight of the opening was above all the guided factory tours. Here, the employees provided information about the advantages of resource-saving production. The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) promoted this as part of the Environmental Innovation Programme. In addition, the offset and digital printing process was demonstrated in 7-colour mode. Exclusively, there was an insight into the key technology of production, the innovative high-tech laser. In future, this will replace the conventional die-cutting process completely without tools and with a high degree of flexibility. " We have succeeded in making the vision of producing folding boxes digitally and almost fully automatically come true," said Nikolaus Reichenbach, Managing Director & Co-Founder of the start-up.

From zero to 30 employees in two years

Within a very short time, the business model was realised and production was put into operation. Reichenbach praised the local team in particular for this. Together with Director Operations & Co-Founder Julian Erhard, he expanded PackEx to over 20 employees within 15 months until the opening ceremony. And the trend is upwards. " We have excellently trained employees and an equally strong management team.

Worms - the location favourite from the start

"Although the Faller Group is based near Freiburg, we made a conscious decision to locate PackEx in Worms. The region has potential," told Dr Daniel Keesman, managing partner of the parent company, August Faller GmbH & Co. KG. This is also due to the excellent location and the good transport infrastructure. The Mayor of Worms, Hans-Joachim Kosubek, added: "PackEx enhances the region with high-quality jobs. This is a great added value for the city." After the official speeches and the interactive factory tour, the guests still had plenty of opportunity to enjoy the cosy atmosphere with start-up character.
