PackEx gets off to a successful start with a customer- and market-oriented business model

Worms, 18 April 2019 - PackEx 's first reference customers show: The decision to produce standard folding cartons in a fully digitalised and automated way was the right one. The pilot phase has been completed and the business model designed for the B2B market has been very well received.

After successfully completing the pilot phase, we at PackEx can say that our business model has proven itself. The business concept is customer-centric and keeps a close eye on the requirements of the market. In times of digitalisation, speed and individuality are in demand. And that with high quality. The packaging industry is developing rapidly. Above all, web-to-pack, which enables individualised mass production at low cost through automation and standardisation processes, is responsible for this. Expensive and complex one-off productions are thus becoming rarer and rarer.

All eyes on: Customer needs

Our specialists at PackEx are also following this trend. They have one thing in mind above all: Customer and user friendliness. Unlike a purely product and company-oriented approach, our digital business model is built on the needs of our customers. Markets are becoming increasingly dynamic, warehousing more complex and uneconomical. In times of high variety and sensory overload, end consumers are looking for product brands with which they can identify more strongly. Small runs, more flexibility and a high degree of individualisation are demanded. Resource-saving processes are increasingly coming to the fore instead of overproduction and mass disposal. We have responded to this and offer individualised standard folding boxes from one to 5,000 pieces on-demand.

But more than that, the PackEx business model combines these customer requirements with the latest industry innovations . That's why PackEx has automated and digitised all ordering and production steps. The intelligent PackEx cloud workflow decides whether offset or digital printing is used. In the virtual warehouse in the PackEx portal, users can store their products and manage them at any time, easily duplicate them or order them with one click. Physical delivery takes place within 72 hours. This is how we meet the demand for a faster time to market.

In order to further develop this quality standard in ordering and production, we are continuously optimising our business model. For this purpose, new customer needs are always taken up and integrated into our business concept. For example, it now offers new features in the PackEx portal every fortnight.

The portal's intuitive ordering process and express production also offer special added value for customers. Our business concept was preceded by long strategic processes in which we gathered extensive market insights. Thus, we at PackEx decided - unlike our parent company - to follow an industry-open approach and thus serve different sales markets. With success: customers from different sectors, including the food and cosmetics industries as well as the marketing and healthcare sectors, order from PackEx. PackEx has thus successfully implemented another corporate goal.

Customers are convinced by PackEx

Our customers appreciate PackEx's extensive range of products: "The diversity of the product portfolio is enormous," says Marc Lischewski, Industrial Designer at Bluebox Promotion and PackEx customer from the very beginning. The cooperation worked excellently and his expectations were definitely fulfilled, emphasises Lischewski. "The PackEx portal is enormously user-friendly. And above all, self-explanatory". He also sees the special added value in the short runs that PackEx offers. Otherwise, says the industrial designer of the product design agency, only large quantities can be purchased. For small or medium-sized companies, these are too large quantities.

This is also the conclusion drawn by Sylvia Ritthaler, Head of Quality Assurance at the healthcare company AVA Lifescience. The company specializes in the development of diagnostics and precision-guided therapy for the field of blood cancers and has developed handy packaging for its diagnostic products with PackEx. "Small-batch production allows us to respond to customer feedback and change packaging quickly," Ritthaler said. The short delivery times are also extremely appealing economically, he adds. Ritthaler also sees particular added value in the PackEx portal. This is "well thought out and clearly laid out. New products can be created very easily. For AVA Lifescience, the cooperation therefore continues: "The user-friendliness of the portal, the end result and the fast delivery - all these project highlights make PackEx a reliable partner for us. Also in the future".

We are pleased to have already successfully mastered several milestones in close cooperation with customers and partners from diverse sectors and to have received positive feedback. We will therefore continue to follow the customer-centric approach in the future.
