Cocoa for the taste and the eye eats with you

In its raw form, cacao is considered a so-called superfood and is used in many South American cultures as a stimulant in spiritual ceremonies. The rich ingredients of the unroasted cocoa bean, including magnesium, calcium and copper, increase the release of serotonin and endorphins in the body and have a stimulating effect that promotes feelings of happiness.

The founders of the Cologne-based start-up Elimba became acquainted with these special features during their extensive travels in South America and came up with the idea of offering the high-quality cocoa in Germany as well. This is how the cocoa balls of the same name were created from Criollo cocoa, which were mixed with spices and hand-shaped in elaborate packaging and brought to the market. The exotic drink was well received and in 2019 Elimba had the opportunity to present the product to wealthy investors on the start-up programme "Die Höhle der Löwen" on VOX.

In the lion's den

Since they expected a strong growth in demand due to the TV appearance, the young start-up needed new packaging for the tasty cocoa balls at short notice. Since time was pressing, they finally approached PackEx - with success. In a night-and-night operation, several thousand visually appealing folding boxes, so-called card trays, were produced in the PackEx factory in Worms in a very short time with special colours according to PANTONE in seven-colour printing. Elimba was thus able to satisfy the great demand from enthusiastic customers.

Quick to market thanks to PackEx

"The broadcast on 'Die Höhle der Löwen' (The Lion's Den) generated a lot of attention for us, which we simply could not handle. PackEx came to our aid in this emergency situation and helped us quickly. The direct and friendly contact with the employees enabled a good cooperation and a quick result." - This is how Elimba commented on the cooperation with PackEx. By the way, the likeable start-up found an investor during the TV show.

Even though the deal subsequently fell through, Elimba's business model is now very successful and has several hundred customers, including several restaurants, cafés and organic shops. PackEx is proud to have played a small part in this great success story and wishes Elimba continued success!
